DUI Education and Therapy
A DUI arrest can start a very confusing and lengthy process. Many offenders are sentenced to classes to help them gain the skills to prevent future drunk driving behavior. Often, people want to begin attending the classes before the sentence is official, so that they can complete them sooner. Enrolling in and attending classes right away can be helpful in the criminal justice process, as it shows the judge that the offender is serious about setting things right and fulfilling their sentence.
This group is a Division of Behavioral Health (formerly ADAD) approved group and uses the standard “Driving With Care” Manual. There are a standard 12 session or 24 hours to complete this course for most DUI offenders.

- Level II Therapy
Level I Education classes are offered over two days (six hours per day) for a total of 12 hours. Classes are typically offered once/month. Once you have completed the required number of hours you will receive a copy of the Discharge Referral Summary (DRS) for your records.

The Level II Education class runs for 12 weeks, two hours each week. These classes use either the 'Driving with Care' or the 'Impaired Driver Education Program' by the Change Company cirriuculum based on the instructor. Participant manuals may be purchased for $15. Once you have completed the required number of hours for this class you will receive a copy of the Discharge Referral Summary (DRS) for your records.
Level II Education classes are offered at the following time(s):
- Monday evenings from 7:00 - 9:00pm or
- Thursday evenings from 5:00 – 7:00pm

Depending on which track you are pursuing, the Level II Therapy class runs from 21 – 43 weeks, two hours each week. This class uses 'Driving with Care' or 'Impaired Driver Education' from the Change Company based on the counselor. Participant manuals may be purchased for $15. Once you have completed the required number of hours for this class you will receive a copy of the Discharge Referral Summary (DRS) for your records.
Level II Therapy classes are offered at the following time(s):
- Monday evenings from 5:00-7:00pm or
- Thursday evenings from 7:00-9:00pm

All classes are facilitated by an experienced Certified Addictions Counselor II or III.
Prior to beginning in one of the above classes participants are required to complete an intake session with the group facilitator. Intake sessions typically take between 45-60 minutes. The cost for the intake session is $70.
