AWARDS AND ACCOMPLISHMENTS

Lost and Found Inc. was nominated for the 2006 Colorado Ethics in Business Alliance for the Samaritan Institute Award. The Colorado Ethics in Business Alliance honors companies promoting ethical business conduct for the benefit of the workplace, the marketplace, the environment and community. As a finalist we received a Certificate of Achievement.

(1988) Communities for A Drug-Free Colorado Governor's Award (from Governor Roy Romer) Awards Lost and Found Inc. RELIGION/OUTSTANDING PROGRAM

Funded and Founded The Free-Indeed Conferences in 1990 and 1991 that brought together on a national basis the faith communities that were dealing with addictions and chemical dependency.

(1994-1995) The Colorado Child and Adolescent Mental Health Coalition awards Lost and Found Inc. “ Exemplary Service Award as A Board Member” (David Bear)

(l996) Colorado Association of Children and Family Agencies awards our Child Placement Agency “ Foster Care Family of the Year Award” (Roy and Joette Stewart)

(1998) Minoru Yasui Award for Volunteer of the Year awards to Dr. Harvey Kugler (our Medical Director for the Family Counseling Center)

(During the years of 1999-2001) Lost and Found Inc. was engaged in a state-wide effort to resist the so-called, “one sex offender to one household” zoning ordinances affecting only children’s foster and group homes throughout the municipalities of Colorado. One of our foster homes and our residential treatment center refused to comply with these ordinances, taking us all the way to the Colorado Supreme Court. We won in all three arenas—city, county and state, overturning these unjust ordinances for the children in treatment care for these issues.

(August, 2002) Lost and Found Inc. (via the Guinness World Book of Records) wins "World's Largest Bouquet Sold by a Florist"

(2003) Lost and Found Inc. was included in "Treating Teens: A Guide to Adolescent Drug Programs" as one of the "most highly recommended" adolescent treatment programs in the country. The Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, funded the Drug Strategies original research for the l44 programs included in this guide. (see www.drugstrategies.org)
